So now you know, while you are at a bar having a pint of Elysian Night Owl Pumpkin Ale, your house can be protected by Night Owl as well.RELEASE OF LIABILITY, VOLUNTARY ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT So Night Owl is not just a Washington beer, but also a home security system. I love always googling the name of beers to see if something random comes up. There is nothing about pumpkins in the artwork, but they do a great job of making the words “Pumpkin Ale” at the bottom stand out in orange so people know it is one right away. The owl is a good representation of fall and halloween as well which is always good for pumpkin beer artwork. It is one of my favorites.Īrtwork – My take on the artwork is that Elysian wanted to represent the darkness of the Night Owl beer (because it is a wicked dark beer) with a bird that represents night time and dark woods in the back. Over all, Night Owl is a great beer and I definitely recommend anyone who likes pumpkin beer to try it. To compare, most home brewers use 5-15 pounds of pumpkin, Sam Adams uses 20 pounds for their “20 Pounds Of Pumpkin Ale”, and the average for big batches of pumpkin ales is around 50-70 pounds (not all pumpkin beers list how much they use so this number is not accurate). In the Night Owl batches, Elysian brewery puts 150 pounds of pumpkin in to flavor the beer. It’s not hoppy or bitter at all and the aftertaste is a nice cinnamon flavor. It is brewed with pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice. The bar sits 400 customers and is always packed on game days.īeer – Elysian Night Owl Pumpkin Ale is a great beer with a good cinnamon/pumpkin taste that is very smooth. Elysian Fields – In 2006, Elysian opened this sports bar next to CenturyLink Field (home of the Seattle Seahawks) and Safeco Field (home of the Seattle Mariners). When they come up with a new recipe, they put it on draft at Tangletown and allow the customers to decide if it is worth selling to the public.ģ. Tangletown – Opened by Elysian in 2003, this bar acts as a testing kitchen for Elysian’s new recipes. In 2002, Universal decided to allow the brewery to control the draft beer menu with their own beers and other beers they choose.Ģ. Universal chose Elysian to operate the pub area in 1996. Gameworks – An entertainment complex owned by Universal Studios, Dreamworks, and Sega. The brewery now owns a few pubs around the Seattle area:ġ. During Washington’s campaign to get re-elected as president, he used his home-brewed beers for gifts for those who voted for him.Įlysian Brewery is a Seattle brewery that started in 1996. Washington also had a notebook kept at the brewhouse with beer recipes to try different ingredients. Small Beer was much lighter than normal beer and had less alcohol content. He specifically had a beer called “Small Beer” for the servants and children to drink. He did not care about age, anyone could drink beer at his brewhouse including kids. He went there for private parties with friends and family to drink beer.
